Neighbourhood Plan

A referendum was held on 6th May 2021 and 92.36% of those who voted were in favour of the Plan. Paragraph 38A (4)(a) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 as amended requires that Wiltshire Council must make the neighbourhood plan if more than half of those voting have voted in favour of the plan.

Formal 'making' of Lydiard Millicent Neighbourhood Plan 2018 - 2036

In accordance with the Localism Act 2011, there was a six week period from the date on which the referendum results were declared to make a legal challenge. No legal challenges were made against the Neighbourhood Plan during this period.

Following an independent examination and a positive referendum result, Wiltshire Council decided to formally 'make' the Lydiard Millicent Neighbourhood Plan. The Lydiard Millicent Neighbourhood Plan now forms part of the Development Plan for Wiltshire and the policies in the plan will be given full weight when assessing planning applications that affect land covered by the plan.
