Lydiard Millicent is a parish situated in the far North-East corner of Wiltshire. It is included within the Wiltshire Unitary Area, having borders with the civil parishes of Purton, Brinkworth, Lydiard Tregoz, and to the East a border with Swindon Borough Council, a separate Unitary Authority.
Although rural in nature, the Parish has distinct settlements; each with its own individual features and atmosphere. Lydiard Millicent is classified as a small village in Wiltshire’s Core Strategy but does still have a public house, school, and a number of small businesses. The hamlet of Greenhill is across the busy Purton Road from the main village, with Greatfield being situated along this road. Other distinct areas include the hamlets of Lydiard Green, Common Platt, Washpool, The Elms and Holborn
